Diwali Competition details and rules Minimize

GENERAL RULES FOR ALL COMPETITIONS:

  • You will need to submit an entry by submitting a form above by Nov. 8th, 2011.
  • Committee reserves the right to allow or disallow last minute participation.
  • There is no entry fee for competitions.
  • Judges decisions will be final for all competitions.
  • Expenses incurred for participating in these competitions will be borne by the participants.
  • The number of winners for each competition will be decided based on the number of participants and at committee's discretion.



Competitions for adults: Ages 17 and above

 1. Diwali faraal

There are two categories for this competition: Chakli and Karanji. Please bring minimum 5 pieces each. 

Participants can submit their entry in any one faral category. No participant can participate in more than one faral category at the same time.

 2. Rangoli

Rangoli can be drawn at the hall only. No rangoli to be drawn directly on the hall floor, we will provide black/ brown paper (standard poster board size 22" x 28") taped to the floor on which to draw rangoli. No burning candles or diyas on rangoli.  The competition will be for one hour from 5.30 p.m- 6.30 p.m. Please arrive by 5.15 p.m. Bring your own rangoli colors.

Competitions for kids: Ages 16 and below

 1. Marathi Hastakshar

We will make two groups by age, kids age below 10 and kids ages ranging from 11 to 16. A small script will be provided at the hall for the kids to write in Marathi. Please bring clipboard, sharpened pencils and erasers with you.

 2. Lego Fort

Lego fort is to be made at home and brought on the competition day. Use only Lego/kennex pieces and your imagination. This competition is open for children under age 16.
